I just got a 262 with a KS cylinder that the exhaust port is a little bit nicked up (the upper lip). Can I grind it down a little bit to make sure that nothing is protruding into the cylinder that can catch the piston or ring. Thanks.

image.jpeg image.jpeg I tried to get some pics of the exhaust port but my last ghting is bad. This is all I've got. I think its got a carbon streak on the right side of the exhaust port. When I feel it it feels like its above rather than below. I tried sanding it but you can still fell something in there. Oh yeah, my dremel died too! Bad day!!!!image.jpeg

You should be able to bevel that out, as long as the nick isn't too big. The carbon streak won't cause you any problems as long as you sand it out.

Everybody has their opinion but I've been a Stihl man for a long time. Bought a 262 with a KS cylinder and an 87 carb and that liitle sucker can cut some wood! Its stock, too! Even if that is a little scoring line I'll still probably run it til she dies!

Your pics make it look like it was straight gassed.

Great saws, btw. I love my 262. It's not a KS jug, but it was still pretty damn impressive (before porting). Haven't ran it since.

. Well at least I'm expanding my horizons! That what I thought too. Since my dremel died I'll have to wait til the weekend to get back into it. Does anybody know where to get quality emory cloth? Dont like the ones I bought off of ebay. I put them in and they are done!

I dont think it was sraight gassed. He put a brand new piston in in and by looking at the piston, I think a chunk of carbon caught the piston and nicked it and put the line up there. The rest of the jug is smooth ecxept that little line. How he got it to run I havent a clue as he sold ir to me without an intake. Only thing there was an elbow. Unless he had a spare intake. Plus he said it had great spark....the spark plug lead wasnt long ehough to reach the spark plug and the coul was loose! Sounds like me in my younger years! Lol

Oh yeah, it didnt have a fuel line either! I'm a redneck, but this one beats anything I've done. I'm just gonna use it as a beater!

Hmm. Sounds Almost as good as the 385xp I got from a 'good seller' over on AS that turned out to be a pile of *s-word.
