Question regarding the recoil screws on the 242xp: I see they are not OEM. Are they the correct thread type and pitch?? Hopefully not self-tapping screws run in there.
Very nice, GLWS!

Wow i missed that part of this thread!!! I saw pretty saw and 300 bucks. You mean they dont run?????? I really got to pay more attention.So... this may be a dumb question, but... You're not sure if they run? I'm confused.
so do you still want to sell the 242xp. I am sure there is still interest in buying the saw even if it has problems. It's hard for a bunch of guys with CAD to just forget about a good pro saw.Never mind.

What happened?
I just mounted new b/c on the 242 tonight. Prob get it out tomorrow and run it some. They are a blast. Its to bad they are so hard to find and if you can get a good jug you better grab it up.I have had this weird itch for a high quality (dare I say Pro-grade) sub-45cc saw for about a year now... I have no idea why.. Guess it's because my Dads old Johnny-Red 455 still makes me smile I suppose..
Nothing currently available in that size class really lays my hair back except maybe the Dolmar 421.. Then I learned about the 242xp's awhile back.. Yeah.... want one pretty bad..
