This is one rare situation where I prefer the AM part to the oem one. Cheaper too. The nwp and hyway seem to be made of thicker metal than oem. Less likely to crack/dent. They hold up well. Ditch the crappy screen that comes with the muffler though, they have disintegrated on me after some run time. The paint on the hyway muffler sucks and rusts quickly. Repaint with hi temp grill paint and fixed. Also the muffler gasket that comes with these mufflers I prefer over oem, it’s thicker.

When swapping the muffler on my ported 2166 the one I was putting on needed the bracket that came with it. I tried the one from the 2166 and there was a gap between the bracket and tye chassis. I was under the impression it was a 372 muffler, but I'm not 100%.
@mdavlee this was on the one I got from you, anything to add, was it for sure off a 372.
Also want to ad that the mounting plate on the 2166 muffler was thinner than the one I replaced it with.

Dan I think I have a new stock jred muffler here with the bracket, want me to put it in the box.

Did you have the bracket on backwards?

There's always a chance lol.
@Armbru84 was supervising so I'll blame him .
I was wondering if it was off a 390? The muffler had to be used with the bracket that came with it.

That is a buet .
A nice hole through the mount works well along with opening up the stock opening and a screen can be added(and should be on the front).

I’m pretty sure it was a 372 one. Was it aftermarket or oem? Seems several of them the bracket has to be tightened down and bent to be touching.

Not 100%(I'll look later), but I remember the flange looked way better on it and thinking that was an area they must have skimped on the jreds. It was out at least an 1/8, but I think ,more than that, as Dave said maybe I had it on backwards lol.

The 390 and some aftermarket are thicker flanges and stick out further when it’s put in a 372 series.
