I’ll get a pic and measure the dish tomorrow. From first look the combustion chamber looks the same as any other 562.

You would think that those Swedes would have the 562 figured out after 10 years of production. Might as well call it a 561xp now. The dished piston and a few other things were done to the 262xp and then it was called the 261

Could be to save the bottom end/rod or possibly intended for an area with crap fuel.

In aftermarket, yes. OEM I could likely order.

The dish is 0.9mm deep.

That is a huge dish..:.and the combustion chamber looks unchanged. I haven’t run one of the newest 562’s, but I would think this would be a noticeable change for the worse.

Just an update on this. Was in my local dealer ordering another piston. They list two top ends now so you can still order the flat top piston. The dished piston has a completely different part number.

The highlighted number is the flat top. It’s 584 80 78 06.

Here's the associated service bulletin. Curious that as of the last time I was in there, the 555 still had a flat top. The last dozen or so 562's we sold were these dished versions.

I didn’t even run it. I had stripped it thinking it was the same as before. Would be good to get two side by side.
