Been doing some cleaning and organizing and am tired of shuffling this thing around. I have no real history on the saw other than it cut a lot of wood for several years for a landowners personal firewood/storm damage. I don't know if it runs or has other issues, but the guy did sharpen regularly and attempted to manage the depth gauges. 24" bar for all its life, mostly cutting madrone and tan oak.

Not the dirtiest but not clean, seems to be complete. These things are heavy!

$280 shipped to the 48 states, powerhead only.

I could be off again..but..why don't you put some mix in and see if it runs ?
I might if it sits around for a week or more. I'm really short on time, and just had about two days of storm damage added onto my docket that the clients are considering emergencies. I thought 280 shipped was a decent no-questions-asked price, but maybe I'm off.....?

I will endorse @HumBurner for sure. I bought a bunch of 266 parts from him, sold as non-runners. All of them ran, with good compression. Just needed covers and such. Threw seals and orings on them for good measure. Also, I just bought a 242 from him, sold as a project. After cleaning up the caked on dirt, it fired up and ran perfectly with over 200 psi of compression, and it looks great. He does a good job of ensuring that the buyer is going to get a good deal, and it often turns out that the buyer gets a screaming deal.

I appreciate the vouch, man.

To be clear, I'm not selling this as a runner. I haven't even pulled the muffler to inspect the exhaust-end, unlike most saws that come my way.

The same person also gave me a 251 that had a really dirty fuel filter and air filter, to the point I couldn't get it to maintain revs in wood.

This and the 251 I found to be excessively heavy and clunky compared to a 261/346/359/562. I simply have no interest in putting time into these homeowner saws.

Well..not that you couldn't sell that saw for 280 bucks on this forum..

But..a 311 is a wheel chock to 95% of the guys that frequent this forum, for 280 bucks you're probably at bare minimum gonna have to prove that it runs and is somewhat mechanically sound.

Friendly advice.

I have no doubt he's an honest guy and a good seller. That doesn't really change my point, 280 bucks for a 311 he's probably gonna need a little more detail.

I really liked the balance and heft of the 311, that is until I picked up a 261!! I sold a lot more 261s than 311s. For the 311s it seemed like it was more of the occasional cutters that wanted to save a $100-150 instead of buying a 261. Then again, I had one guy come in who was milling with his 311...got it so hot he melted the glue holding on his transfer covers on the cylinder.

That just happened to some I think because I had some 271’s like that. The new versions of them have no covers if i recall right. 311 is decent saw just heavy compared to a 362 ect and the 391 is same saw with larger cc. 250-300$ seems to be selling price for a nice running 311/391.
