Low hour 2008 model that was the victim of a ham fisted operator with a dull chain. Passed pressure and vacuum tests, so I installed a new OEM top end, and base gasket. The compression number is at 4700' elevation after making a couple of test cuts, with a slightly fat tune. Converted Sea Level compression is 160#. I have a good used O/P lever to include with the saw.

$375 shipped to the lower 48. Power head only.

May I tell a hypothetical story?

Someone brings a saw in to the shop, says it isn't running right. Leaves a $20 for diagnostics. Compression is low, but vac and pressure test ok. Quote the customer for a new P&C, $125 online + 20% markup = $150, plus labor to R&R, $150. Customer isn't a logger, as evidenced by minimal usage on a 9-year old saw, and is weighing $300 to fix an occasional-use tool, so either a) doesn't even bother coming back, or b) is eyeballing a brand new 545 on sale for just under 5 bills. Tell the customer that trading in his old saw will take $50 off the sale price of a new saw. Sell the 545 to the customer, rebuild the 346xp for $125 in parts and flip it for $375. Put $50 back in the till for the 545 discount and keep $200 for the effort.

Whatever the story behind it, someone got a hell of a deal!!Wish I had seen this two days ago. Great sale Jon. [emoji1319]

Buyer already has a 545. Love it. However autotune carb is getting replaced under warranty for some issues. Was thinking about "simplifying". I am curious about all the hype of a 346xp. On its way to get ported so it's not exactly a fair comparison but I do like the fact that they have unlimited coils . This saw was to nice to pass up.

What does hypothetical mean?

Nice snag- great saw and an even better seller. I can't speak for stock, but ported they are stupid good.

Cheers!
