Hey gang. I'm slowly putting together a collection of saws and weedeaters from my childhood as garage decorations. My grandfather bought a Craftsman 2.3 top handle (Poulan S25 I think) new in the 1970's and used it until he died. Unfortunately it disappeared along with many other things in his estate. I would like to find the same model he had in good cosmetic shape as a wallhanger. His saw was red, no A/V or brake, all magnesium construction, and had the Power Sharp knob on the clutch cover. If you got one of these to spare, give me a holler.

That's really cool.
The power sharp ones are hard to find, there was one up this way last yr on craigslist, haven't seen one since.
I have a craftsman 2.0 with the banana bar on it and no brake, it's in great condition. Not sure what yr it is.

Thanks, yeah that is a really nice example. Grandpa's saw predated yours from what I can tell. It had no handguard and the large round recoil cover. I'm sure a nice one will turn up at some point, just gotta keep my eyes peeled. His saw was exactly like this one, just painted red:

Figured mine was a bit newer.
The one I saw last yr was like you wanted and red, usually I see the blue ones. What caught my eye on the one I saw is he had all the power sharp stuff on it in working condition and had an extra chain with it. I don't collect older saws at this point, but it was pretty neat.

I see alot of them with the Power Sharp bar cover but nothing else, I suppose most didn't want to hunt down the special chain for it. That's how Grandpa's was, the Power Sharp bar cover and knob were still there but nothing else. He just used regular Oregon bars and chains on it. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I have the original owner's manual for the saw. If I can find it I'll make scans for this site.

Mr. Ferguson, I have a 2.3 Craftsman in red with the original banana bar, power sharp components intact, but not the power sharp chain. I believe it does run and oil well. Is this something you still might be interested in. I could get you some pics tommorow. or Tuesday. Let me know. Thanks, TIm

Here is the one I could let go of your interested. It's not cleaned up but does run, start, and oil well. Two things to be up front. Incorrect starter handle and the silicone valve in fuel cap dribbles just a little. I would have a handle off a parts saw if needed. This saw has minimal use as shown. Thx, Tim

Wow, those are nice examples! I suppose Hunter's would be my first choice as that is the same bar that was on Grandpa's. What are your prices with shipping? My zip is 40475.
