Hi, Need help with information / suggestions on 064 flywheels and coils.
I’ve got an 064 with a 1122-400-1204 flywheel that the coil has died. I can’t find much in the way of numbers on the coil.

Can anyone tell me if there is a compatible coil that will work with this flywheel or any other combinations that will work?

Only has 8mm centre in flywheel

Cant get any help from manufacturer her in Oz.

Thanks in advance
Neil

Hi Neil -

Are you sure it's a 1205 flywheel? I'm not doubting, I've just never seen one of those before.

If you could post a picture of the coil, one of us could identify it for you and then suggest a replacement.

Thank you Jacob, yes I know I can’t find them mentioned anywhere either. I will take it off tonight and post a few pics.
Cheers

Hi Jacob, oops I’m a dill.
The number on my flywheel is 1122-400-1204F7FB8D01-7D4A-4DB4-9097-4AE5D33BDE8E.jpeg

You're not a dill, Neil. It's easy to get those numbers mixed up. That probably means you have the 1122 400 1303 coil, which
is a rev-limited coil. Look on it and see if you can find the letters "CDIC" and we'll know for sure. It might look like this:

Yes Jacob it has got
CDIC 106/1 on it.
It look like the one you have posted, I can’t send a pic of it atm as I’m out for a few hours. I will post pics when I get home.
Thank you for your help

Yeah that's the 1303 coil, which are notorious for failing. The options are to try to find another, or to fit a different flywheel and coil to your saw.

The other flywheels that fit your saw are 1122 400 1201 and 1122 400 1203.

Then you could use the 0000 400 1300 ignition, which is widely available.

Ok thank you
Are these flywheels available new?
Or have you any ideas of where I can go to get one?

Ebay usually, or one of the second-hand saw parts websites like Chainsawr.com.

I'll test the 1303 coil I have here and if it's good, you can have it.

Oh wow thank you but I would have to pay you for it.
Jacob are you in the states?
I’ve been on eBay but can’t seem to find anything other than in Europe.
Have you got any idea how hard it is to join a German eBay site when you live in Australia and don’t speak German, but I did:);):(

I'm in the states Neil. Yeah, German or UK Ebay might have good parts. If this coil here tests out good, just pay shipping on it and it's yours.

I've got assorted small parts left over from 25 years of rebuilding 064/066s.

Thank you Jacob more than happy for that.
I really appreciate your help.
Yes look like I will have to go to the UK about $250.00 aus dollars but cheaper than a new saw... grrr

You can fit a common coil and run without a flywheel key to get timing right.
The taper holds the wheel tight not the key.
Here is my 064 with common coil fitted.
Note adaptor bracket at bottom of coil to fit the case mount if required.
Also pic of pole/magnet position with piston AT TDC.
Chris.

Thank you Chris
That is a great idea, I would never have thought of.
When you say a common coil, what numbers would this include?
Regards
Neil
