Well I thought I had some before the sanding mandrel pics, but appear to have failed to do so. My first attempt at cylinder salvage so any input would be greatly appreciated. Actually its my first saw rebuild ever. After countless hours of reading and soaking up knowledge from you fine people, I feel fairly comfortable going in. Thank you all!

The verticle lines are they thru the plating? If they are shallow and no other transfer is president run that jug. It may have slightly less comp but run a good many years. Maybe go once more over the score marks with like a 180-220 paper then a 320 finish. I usually finish with 180 but some say 320 think of a fresh bore and how easy is usually 60-80 grit so it will be fine at 180.

I'd get a little more off of it through some wetsanding and a scotch bright and run the crap out of that.

I like no color in grooves and the little bit above the port need to go. I may be in the minority but I like to hand wetsand with 250 to start. It cuts the transfer more, but don't go hog wild and cut through the plating.

When you say wetsand are we talking with water or some sort of cutting oil or wd40?
