tuning brand new dolmar 7910

I have a new saw that I am about ready to break in. (I have not started it yet) A few questions about the process: I have a tachometer to measure the rpm's wide open and make sure they are at maybe 12,500 RPM's, or would you go right up to 12,800? Do you run a brand new saw wide open for this...
