    084 Carb Diaphragm Help

Just a story. Had a Stihl TS400 come in a couple of weeks ago. Hard to start. So, I messed with it a little and it was just spewing fuel out of the barrel of the carb. Well, Stihl does not show a replacement carb kit. So, ordered one from Gardner who is a big supply house here. If it showed...

    084 Carb Diaphragm Help

I think you can get a complete rebuild kit with the forked lever and tab on the diaphragm. Or, at least I have in the last few years. Sort of wonder if you got the tab in the fork correctly or not. Hard to see.

    What's on your bench?

That round black cover on the side of the carb was a clear sight window on the Robin so you could see the fuel level. I let it roll over in the back of the truck and broke the window. I tried to glue something over it and it would last a short time. Finally gave up. Carb NLA.

    What's on your bench?

I think it is actually a primer and the black button dumps it in to the barrel. Had a Robin that worked that way.

So what did you buy today

Unfortunately , I have used a shovel a bit. Like digging a septic tank line by hand, etc. The short handle shovels are for moving sand or gravel, etc. If you want to dig a hole you really need the pry length of the regular shovel. Reason they made them that way.

    Ms390 Potential Air Leak?

Does not strike me as an air leak, but it could be. Make sure the impulse line is intact and not stopped up with some excess Dirko or whatever you used to seal the pan. Usually with an air leak they will run, but just not idle down. IOW, if it is a fully adjustable carb , with an air leak you...

    Easy Start saws

Well, I'm 71 years old and work as a mechanic for a Stihl dealer still. The easy starts are fine. The problem usually occurs when you loan it to your young friend or relative who yanks the insides out of it. I would also ask how you start your saw. I never drop start anything. I set the saw...

So what did you buy today

I bought a Stihl SR430 sprayer. I am going to kill early blight and late blight on my tomatoes if I can. Pump up sprayers just don't get the chemical where it needs to be.

    Stihl 400 point one predictions?

Need to wait a while to make sure Stihl does not want it, but I may get a MS400 that is only a few days old. Train wreck inside. My suspicion is the people were running a little scam to get a job done and get their money back. But, whatever. I'll post some photos if it goes my way.

036 hard to pull starter cord

Well, the 1300 is a "dumb" coil with no advance. Seems to have ignored my post about dry cylinders being difficult to pull. I start saws that are "locked up" for old farts every day. Funny thing is that I am older than most .
