All I know is with the pin punched in it was iffy to the point I didn't want to keep running it. The bar was turning brown and too hot...

It depends on what your cutting... Dead oak or locust seems to be the worst, slow cutting and and it wicks up the oil.

Doesn't mean it won't fit/work. They used the same body for a lot of pumps.

A 440 doesn't oil as good as a 462 does. A 660 doesn't oil as good as a 661 does. Both by simply pushing in the limiting pin to allow...

That's why they continue to make the new models with an oil pump that's adequate for the recommended bar lengths whether it's an R model...

You didn't put an oil pump from a 460 in your 462. It isn't possible. There is no "HO" pump for a 462, they made it adequate enough...

The parts list says the 500i and 462 share the same oil pump. 661 has a different part number.
