It might be, it wouldn't be able to protrude on the other side due to the design of the selector. I called Minton Motors and they had a good used part to me in 3 days. I never tried to make the old one work.
Yes Sir. It is the contol knob most likely. Take the dash bezel off and then remove the knob assembly. On the back of the assembly, all of the vacuum lines plug into it. My guess is that one of nipples on the switch assembly is broken. The default position when a vacuum leak occurs is defrost.
I ended up getting a 3032E, wasnt much extra to get a little more power. So far I am impressed. The only thing I have found is the lack of a bucket level indicator. I am sure I can rig something up.
