    Gouge or transfer?

Much appreciate your advise @Ketchup. I have read many of your post. Your knowledge is respected and welcome. Thank you. Sincerely I already have the OEM cylinder screwed down with the Duke's piston and rings in. I did trim the ears(?) from the AM circlips. A dremel tool comes in handy. Booger...

    Gouge or transfer?

Seriously. I am just asking for opinions from someone with more experience. I guess I asked the question wrong. ??? IDK To post the question again: "Is this OEM Malhe cylinder usable or would an AM P/C kit be a better choice?" I have the Meteor P/C on hand for a different saw, the Hyway kit was...

    Gouge or transfer?

    Yeah..... okay.

    Gouge or transfer?

Side note: both new cylinders, the Hyway and the Meteor black box were cast from the same mold. Different finish of plating, YES. Different finished machining, possible. But these two cylinders came from the same mold. I have little doubt. High confidence. I will bet you a chocolate chip cookie...

    Gouge or transfer?

Okay, guess I will go with the Mahle/Duke or the Hyway. Leaning Hyway, just looks better. No idea of numbers nor do I have a degree wheel. Just going by looks

    Gouge or transfer?

A little more information. Saw is to play with and maybe ride in the truck. Not a main saw but I do want reliability. I have a DUKE's coated piston already in hand plus CABER rings. Will also replace the soft parts as I rebuild. 2001 model so likely needing new intake, fuel and impulse. Both...

    Gouge or transfer?

372xp OE, second hand to me. I don't know the saws history. Piston looks pretty good, likely a replacement. MAHLE cylinder with a sketchy looking exhaust port. I have been working the cylinder with 600 and 1000 grit wet/dry and a ScothBrite. I did get transfer off. Really think this is...

    Tsumara throwing chains?

I love Tsumara and Sugihara bars. Standard, light or premium light no matter. OEM or rebranded. IME the best value today by far is Tsumara or Sugihara bars. Stihl or Cannon may be better quality, longer lasting, IDK and am not going argue this point. But Tsumara and Sugihara bars, in any...

    Tsumara throwing chains?

@Ezarb I think Tsumara bars are excellent. I had one that seemed to have a bit of clear-coat, or wharever protective coating they apply, in the bar groove causing the drivers to drag. Just a guess on my part. And yes, it was one of new Premium Lite bars

    Tsumara throwing chains?

If a chain breaks I will post it. Until then, more oil and more throttle. TSUMARA just makes some really nice bars in my experience. Until I see otherwise I'm gonna' run it. And run it hard. If a fail we will soon see it on the forums

    Tsumara throwing chains?

Yes, the new Tsumara *Premium Lite* bars with issues here. Really nice seeming bar IMO

    Tsumara throwing chains?

Maybe the protective clear coat on new bars??? IDK. I am just running it. Just turn up the oil flow

    Tsumara throwing chains?

Yeah, a new 28" and 32" "premium lite" TSUMARA bar have been difficult on a pair of 90cc(+) saws . Not sure of the issue as both have correct chain drive link size and DL count. Seems really tight regarding chain drive link size vs bar groove intially. Running the snot out of both. Seems better...
