Well years later I finally got the clutch off with no damage. The seal on the clutch side is pretty crispy, and it wasn’t from the torch being out to it because all of the wood shavings weren’t burnt. I just wanted to update the thread for future reference.

I had my puller on it for a month or two, used lots of heat, gave it many good smacks with a hammer-and it never budged. I think the clutch has spun and welded itself to the crank. It has been sitting in pieces for a year now. Someday I'll get back to it :)
I would be interested in seeing the same tests done but with varying chain tension. I think mdavlee is on the right track- but maybe the problem could be overcome with more chain tension. And maybe the belly bar gets faster with less chain tension. Thanks for sharing all the great info...
I've been able to stay away from belt buckles. There is a lot of different ones and they made them a lot longer. I think Stihl is still making them, right? Lighters and watch fobs are cool too. Has anyone actually worn a watch fob though? Be honest
