Good catch on the unbroken clutch cover on the 041 @heimannm. They always break off around the muffler.

Starter covers are plastic but metal bushed. No more starters but do have a set of faded top covers if your painting for cheap @stix2620

Motoseal is a great gas resistant sealant when used as directed. It's only issue is it has poor gap filling characteristics. Not insinuating that was your issue Chris. But it is what I've learned from using it.
