    I took the exhaust to 100 and widened, widened the intake but left it at 79 and opened up the lower transfers ( didn't touch the uppers) I made a stainless bearclaw style pipe and the saw runs good but not as much grunt as I hoped for when bar is buried.     As I'm pretty green to this, if I have 28* blow down, how will the saw perform with a 36" bar vs a 20* blowdown with the same bar?

    Oh yes, I didn't consider that. I'll just do the cylinder. When it comes to widening the intake and exhaust, would the best way to measure how much I can go be to put bearing blue on the piston and gently scribe a line so I know how much to take off either side?

    Just wondering, to save some grinding on the cylinder upper transfers, could I grind a bit off the top piston edges to make transfers open sooner?
