Got it going. Thanks guys for the help! New piston, flywheel, solenoid. Did the mtronic 3.0 reset, that's magical to a guy used to standard carbs 😆 Thanks again guy's!

OK, I did a compression test came in average 150psi, that's good. Did a vac/pressure test, held 10 both ways. Now the issue is the flywheel key was sheared some point during the failure process of the old piston, I assume. Due to that the flywheel will not stay in place, causing the saw to die...

So here's what I heard, put a little mix gas in the throat on the carb, start on triangle once started let it run for 30 seconds on triangle, peg the gas ( hold it down?) Then rev it up to 10k rpm? Sorry I'm still learning.

Would a harbor freight vac tester do? That's local, otherwise I'll have to order it.

Piston is a exact match.

The solenoid is white.

Is that kit from stihl or aftermarket?

I could not, it's a neighbors saw a he won't say for sure, but he saying no straight gas.

Buddy, you nailed it! this is a neighbors saw he he abuses it! Hella dull chain. Intake boot checked out, flywheel timing checked out, I ain't got a vac/pressure tester, but I looked over everything and it checked out. Thanks for the input

It's a 2020 saw, FYI.

Working on this saw for the neighbor, he ain't got a lot of money so I'm on a budget. Just rebuilt 2 of mine and haven't had a single issue. This has me stumped.

No I didn't rebuild the carb, I'll have to look at the solenoid tomorrow.
