SDoes the saw have a lot of hours on it? Many saws use C3 tolerance bearings, which have a little play from new.

SJust so happened to check the crank for play on my 266xp. Slight radial play. Time for bearings.

You can just use a regular “everything” type Stihl unlimited coil in its place. Just make a little metal bracket for the dogleg mount...
