Not certain about the burbs/tahoes but on the half ton pickups during that time frame I believe it was only the Denalis that had the awd transfer case without 4lo.
Well I traded the half ton for an HD 6.0 gas for the last 5 years. Wasn't winning any drag races but got the job done. Just traded that one a couple months ago for the 6.6 gas and had the maiden voyage with the camper to the Black Hills last week. I guess the bar was set pretty low by the 6.0...
Had the 6.2 LS (reason for my name. I know, sounds lame when I say it out loud) in a 2010 half ton with a canned tune. That was a fun pickup but not much use to drag around the 16k toyhauler.
Having walked a number of old highlead strips where we almost always climbed with spurs, I've never noticed any signs of tree damage from them. Chances are the worst damage may have come from where the block was hung.
