That is an accurate observation. I have done exactly what you describe!

    Easy Start saws

You might be well served by looking up, "Chainsaw Kick Starter" by Tony Wilkinson on U-Tube. I am also up there in years, 87 to be exact, am 5ft 1in & 125 lbs (used to be 5ft 4in & 133 lbs) & have lots of arthritic problems including shoulder & back. I have 5 ported saws including a Stihl 462...

    Stihl 400 predictions?

Sad but true. My dealer, who is very large & well stocked, did not know about it & even said, "You probably know more about it than I do."

    Stihl 400 predictions?

I hadn't thought of it that way. That is an interesting explanation!

    Stihl 400 predictions?

So far no one has mentioned the Mg piston on the original MS400. If the MS400.1 reverts to an AL piston which is heavier than Mg, it seems to me that could be a factor in producing more torque. More mass will produce more inertia meaning it would be harder to "slow down" when it meets resistance...

Two Mile long 900 axle train, REAL Horsepower

I'm a Big Boy or Challenger or Allegheny fan. Diesels just don't do anything for me. Big steam is like a living beast coming down the rails!

What current 60cc class saw is best?

    How about the MS400.1 ?

Stihl NGK spark plugs vs. any ol NGK spark plug?

I have a 241 & a 462 which have both received the "XS treatment". One day when the 241 had only used a few tanks (maybe 5 or 6), it wouldn't fire, & it was not because I wasn't giving it a good spin! I called Kevin & reported to him & said I was going to replace the plug "just because". Probably...

    MS201TC And Other M-Tronic Problems?

My 201 has a standard carb. He he, no solenoid to deal with, only the *!#%$!!?& rev limited coil to bug me. Thanks to Kevin, I can now tune it pretty well.

    MS201TC And Other M-Tronic Problems?

I knew of a J'red dealer a few years back who swore by Denso plugs.

    Dilemma

That's beautiful stuff, David! Yeah, milling is very laborious. I've done a lot of it in white oak, sugar maple, beech, black walnut, red pine & honey locust (very hard & dense). Here is a thought about stabilizing. I know of a woodturner who turned massive tulip poplar stumps into bowls large...

    Table saw. 10" vs 12"

That about saya it all! I have a PM mod.66 running a 3hp, 240V single phase & a Northfield 20 bandsaw running a 3hp Baldor (US made) via a triple belt drive. It weighs in at 970 lbs of all cast iron without the motor. You could write on the table when it is running! The PM 66 is also US made...

    Stihl ms391 woes

I didn't like the idea of my 261 having it until I had it ported & tried to give it a "he-man" pull after it had been sitting for a few months. The saw said NO, & I ended up in PT for 6 months with a torn rotator cuff & torn biceps tendon. The compression on that saw read 205. My ported 241 &...

    Tru-Fuel Question

VP is the same as reported above. I have used a lot of it with no problems.
