    HUSQVARNA Husqvarna Workshop Manuals

Here's the latest IPL/SB updates on the 550, 560, 562 and 572. The 572 one doesn't contain a SB section, so the update likely just is a correction (or something like that).

As far as I know the never was a P65 in that model family (the made the larger option a 70cc P70 when introducing the "P" series) - but there were closed port 65cc top ends on some of the earlier "R" designated models.

From what I recall I agree, and it isn't the first time I see the "reversed" colors. If the top cover is the original it likely is one of the later "farm saws" in this saw family, possibly in Skil "dress" - but of course you never know what may have been changed trough the years on older used saws.

    Husqvarna 266 question

I'm just telling what the IPLs say (and it makes sense as well, a 1991-2 268 (no suffix) and a 1991-2 268 Special would make no sense if the innards were the same). A lot of parts (including the top end) may of course have been changed trough the years on saws of that vintage + decals may have...

    Husqvarna 266 question

Parts may well have been swapped and changed in all those years (about 27 of them at most) - what is in the different saws today may not be what originally was there.

    Husqvarna 266 question

According to the IPLs I am right about what I originally wrote (just checked again to make sure) - the Special was continued production of the XP (and the "plain" 268 was not).

    Husqvarna 266 question

The rather erratic way they have used that designation trough the years makes me say it basically is just a name. Some times it was connected to a specific change to the model, some times it seemed like just marketing (nothing really was changed at all). Anyway, most changes to a model did not...

It would be nice if @Spike60 could take a look at this thread!

    Husqvarna 266 question

According to the IPL etc. story, the 272xp replaced the 268xp as the top model in this "family" early 1991, and was virtually the same saw as a late production 268xp, except for the top end and decals (+ number tag of course). At the same time they basically put the open port 66 top end on the...

    Husqvarna 266 question

In addition to that (and likely more, that I dont recall) the cylinder is different, as the 268xp has larger transfers (can be seen from the outside, by the size of the bulges over the transfers), and the specs show a .2kW higher power rating. Also, as far as I know the 266 never came with the...

    Husqvarna 266 question

Officially, 266se production started in 1981, and ended in 1986/87 when the model was renamed 266xp. There is some difference between an early and a late se (most notably the carb), but as far as I know there is no difference between a late se and an early xp (except the labels/decals). I don't...

That happens - but usually there is no trouble, as in this case. Some just are too proud of their phones to accept it easily though.

Cool - but please get rid of the phone and Tapatalk references from your posts, they are really annoying

    HUSQVARNA Husqvarna Workshop Manuals

I have never seen one. That doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't exist, but usually Husky only issues one WS manual per model (usually early in production), and changes are supposed to be covered by the Service Bulletins (that at this point has become part of the IPLs, but wasn't when the...
