I was thinking about how I was going about comparing the ignition timing on the Farmmac 372 to an OEM 372 and I think all I did was compare the differences in the flywheels, so I'm going to do it over and use a timing wheel. I'll post the results once I get it done.

Two more just showed up and they look just like the first one. I got the timing numbers off the first one, without the base gasket the numbers are, EX 102 TR 126 IN 71 Squish .035

Since seeing @Maintenance Chief's 372 with a big bore I decided to give a big bore a try. I took a chance and ordered 5 because the pics in the ad looked good, one of them just showed up and it looks as good as the pics. I'll post the timing numbers and squish how it came out of the box in a...

Pressure test, bubbles at the base

From the workshop manual. Pump up the pressure to 80 kPa (0.8 bar).4. Wait 30 seconds.5. The pressure must not fall below 60 kPa (0.6 bar). https://www.hlsproparts.com/v/vspfiles/downloadables/WM_570-575XP-2004_1140291-26.pdf

Pressure test, bubbles at the base

If it was my saw I'd re-do it but I'm pretty sure that 1 psi in 2.5 minutes passes the test.

First real cuts with the Neotec 372. It ran pretty good in that hard seasoned oak. The guy at our local sawmill said he's got fresher oak for me, I just need to get up with him.

@srcarr52 I marked the leading edge of the magnet on both flywheels and put a piston stop in the cylinder. I was just trying to see if there was a difference between the OEM and the Farmmac cranks.

@Czed Disregard what I said about the timing being way retarded, maybe it was on the guys saw in the video but I just did a check on my Farmmac and there was 2.2mm differance on the outside of the flywheel, not a lot. The orange saw has an OEM crank and the dirty flywheel is the OEM one. It...

    372 stock ignition timing

Has anyone put a timing light on a 372 and checked to see what the stock ignition timing is?

Tomorrow I'm going to put this OEM cylinder on it until I get an AM one ported and reduce the timing some.
