Tried it on an ms250 a few years ago. Untouched carb with h&l turned all the way out wouldn't turn off because of how lean it ran. Pulled the carb and almost doubled the low and high side orfices. Wasn't a big gain, and you have to flush the fuel system with gas after you run it, but man did it...

All 3 saws had fresh chains. I'll see if I can get a video today to show you what I mean.

MkII and stock same with the 261 stock and mtronic I'm telling ya man! Doesn't need to be. It was embarrassing for the 550 and 261. And to think its about half the price too!

My MS250 will run right past a 550 xp or a 261. Only opened the muffler and 3/8lp conversion. Has yet to let me down. Little clamshell is a straight ripper!

Picked up this blown up 576xp last weekend for a steal. Anyone have a good used oem piston and cylinder?

What I don't understand is the bars are in the 2021 catalog but the chain isn't. Yet I can get the cain but no bars. Stihl is a very odd company lol

@RI Chevy nope never figured it out. I'm not gonna lie tho, I stopped checking after the first time because I was so fed up with the whole deal. It is a nice chain tho. I'll check and see if we're able to order it on Monday. That and the light 04 and 06 bars that haven't been released yet....

Finally got the connecting and drive links from @jmester . Got the extra link added. Cuts awesome on my 036. Although the regular .325 that I square filed cuts better. It cuts great for a stock chain!

@Willard This Windsor 50AL measures at .520 Maybe @Dolkitafreak can measure the Oregon now that I finally measured the Windsor lol

Unfortunately I have no Oregon 3/8 on hand at the moment, I'd gladly measure it for you if you have some oregon you can measure

Got started on my loop lastnight. First time square filing, with a triangular file... what do you guys think?

I don't know how you guys take such perfect looking pictures haha. Tried to take a few more with better lighting. They seem to be in line with each other.

My first try at square filing. This is after trying and fuggin up 5 or 6 other teeth..... Using a Stihl triangular file. Am I heading in the right direction with what you would want in a "play" chain? Criticism very welcome.... just a hack wantin to cut wood fast :D
