I run 32:1 motul 800 w/ 91 octane E free. I've got regular carb saws, auto tune, m-tronic and fuel injected. All run perfect no issues. 1800' elevation
Bought this saw new in 2019. I bet it only has 25+/- tanks through it...spent more time on the shelf than in the wood. Only ever run on 32:1 motul 800 2t synthetic w/ ethanol free 91 octane. Bottom of the saw still has the oem stickers....this thing is cherry. Only issue is the throttle lock...

Anyone know why the 395xp now shows 6.6hp not the 7.1hp it used to be? What there some change in the way they rate them or have they been changed in some way that reduces power??

I did the same thing on Monday. Full service Stihl dealer and heavy equipment dealer. Asked for a stihl HD2 filter, 3/8 7 & 8 pin sprocket, 28" light weight bar and a few different saw files. I walked out of there with their last 3/8 7 pin everything else they had to order.

I have been very happy with my Komatsu pc50mr-2, its a little larger then what you are looking for but the pc35 would be great. I've also had great luck with yanmar & bobcat mini excavators in the 3-ton class.
I would recommend a 5 ton machine they are so much more versatile than the smaller...
