Insulator was tight, never been off. I did run it for 20 minutes today with no issues, maybe it hit a pocket of air after the carb replacement. I have never had much luck tuning them, (many over the years) more than likely there were underlying issues that canceled any tuning.

Yes, new gasket at the insulator/carb. I have not tried adjusting the carb. Thanks for the info, though. I'll look at the insulator tomorrow.

I guess I celebrated early. Fired it up, was doing some weeding, after 10 minutes (just got it up to operating temps) it started to bog down, wouldn't take any throttle. Then it died, hit primer a couple times, it would start on full choke but dies almost immediately. Going to let it cool off...

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. I need to do more of the photo thing when taking it apart. It's nothing for me to bring a tablet out following a youtube guide. But I'll probably forget it next time something needs fixed. :cool:

My bad, then, I had marked the old carb with in and out. Kinda suspected it though. Seems like I'm making more mistakes last few years as I approach 70. Thanks for the help!

So I got caught with some water in fuel issue on my 3 yr old SRM 225. How I don't know, since I get NE gas, and add Stabil. Installed new echo tuneup kit, new Zama RB-K93 and new echo fuel line kit. Having issues with priming, sometimes it primes with many pumps, will run for a minute then dies...
