Great looking saw! I have a bananafied 026 and 261. The 026 hangs right in there and is a tad more nimble. My son prefers it over the 261. Special trigger lock mod on that saw?

I like Schaeffer's 9000 Full Synthetic at 40:1 because it's a pretty blue color when mixed up. Is that a good enough reason?

I must have gotten a good one. It's the saw in my avatar sporting a 32" bar. I have since sold it to a friend. He's been enjoying it the last few years.

I can tell you a 441 Regular ole carb version will pull a 32" bar with full comp chain just fine. Did it for years and years mostly in Oak. The 441 is also a fuel sipper. A ported 500i guzzles fuel and is LOUD. Has plenty of get up and go. I do like it for a felling saw. Can't help you with...

To be fair, I have not tested the Stihl USG ground chain against hand filed recently. I should get that freshened up in my head. I have tested the Northern tool and Tecomec grinders against hand filing a lot. I think the offset round file, deep gullet, and no heat is what made a hand filed...

That looks like a much better compression reading for a ported saw!
