My understanding is the xt cylinder flange is longer than the oe flange and will bottom out in the oe case. If it doesn't bolt down all the way that's your answer.
Why are there early and late versions of the ms261 and ms462. Both with different cylinders. Wouldn't those be mark do overs also? Isn't there 2 versions of the ms362, i'm not up on them? Full disclosure I am not a stihl head but I have a couple.

It can't leak, and if its a combustion chamber mounted valve it can't drop the valve into the cylinder should it fail. That said I run valves on all of mine.
