    Cheap scored 357XP

After that I constantly check the wheel before I take another measure. I hate learning the hard way but it does stick.

I did that too this year, an old but good 372 cyl, problem was the degree wheel moved (operator error). Good thing I had two new OEM cyls. waiting.

I've done a few that way, 372 or 390 clamp.

Early this year I put together a 359 cyl. on a 357 bottom, I inquired here about porting #s and stuff and pretty much followed advice. Now I am no way any kind of hot dog saw porter, but apparently I hit all the right spots, cuz this thing came out very strong.

Measured 4 of em, thinnest was 1.332, thickest 1.340, so the one I ground must have been for a 346.

    Aftermarket Rancher clutch covers

Got it on the 350, I'm still impressed, color matches, it fits tight and matches up every where. At first the brake band would not go around the clutch, I had to remove the clutch then put the cover on the saw with the bar and work the brake a few times, then it fit fine. Time will tell how it...

I just got 2 of the $16.00 ones in the mail this morning, opened one up, I'm really impressed by its looks, not cheezy at all. Gonna go put it on a 350 I just built.

I have had sealant fail once, it was the old permatex hard dry stuff I had put together a husky 550 with. I recognized the high revs instantly & shut er down so no damage I like the permatex red rtv gasket maker.

This was probably 5 years ago, I don't remember the details, maybe one I put a 346 on. I have at least 3 of those blocks in parts bin, when it warms up (-19°f this morn.), I will go out & see how much difference the thickness is.

I do not have a mill, but I can get what ever squish I want with those bearing blocks by using 80 grit wet r dry on a flat surface & sanding the top of the block on this. It is very easy to get a good flat surface this way, measure each corner with a caliper first & know where you want to end...

I have not had any of those come loose. (4 of em) By this I mean I have not had a 357-359 come loose without the support.

Oh, I have a small pile of those, I think only one left with the stock dished piston. A couple of them are now 346s. Some of these are pretty snappy, I just finished porting one but the weather has kept it out of the wood, I do like these little saws.

There's an idea I can play with, I'll have to study on that tomorrow, thanks.
