Still OEM 42cc clam style.

Some 345's were and some weren't from what I've found. Either way with a riser a 346 cylinder will bolt on. Mine does happen to be the clam style and is OEM.

Grabbed this nice cosmetically looking 345 cheap the other day. Top end smoked, so it will be either put back stock, or I may go the route of the 346 top end. It was too nice on the outside to pass it up for what I gave for it.....;)

I personally like the 500vl, they actually run quite well. I picked this one up cheap a couple years ago in un-loved condition. It cleaned up nicely and now runs like it should.....:)

These saws had an update on the oil pick up tube, #2 in the parts list you posted. I replaced one earlier this year.

This one popped up on Craigslist a few weeks back, it was NOS, never fueled. As tempting as it was for me, I passed a link to my buddy that lived within ten minutes from where it was listed, He snagged it up at a great price, he's thrilled to own it...... :thumbsup:
