No, I had just filled them with the new oil, and neither it nor what was already in the tank was vegetable oil - just common bar and chain oil - probably either TSC or Itasca brand.
Guess it's just one of those freak coincidences.

Last week cut up a neighbor's downed tree with the 400. Toward the end of the job noticed the chain was getting slack and shut it down to tighten it. Realized it was dry...
Learned my lesson a couple of weeks back.
Getting a Hurricane Ida tree off of a house. Walking the trunk cutting limbs off and got a little careless in tight quarters.
Thankfully it wasn't as bad as it looks. Blood thinners make any injury more dramatic!
