Ms390 would definitely prefer the full skip. And I'd recommend Dukes brand chain in a cheap 3 pack.

I thought the case reinforcement was added after the first run of 592xp's came out? Because of the spike breaking that corner off.
I could be wrong or the case side could have been replaced?
I think with the wide selection of 70cc+ saws I'm not going to be able to justify any saw purchases ! Lol unless I start giving them away!
I did think about an MS462R ,but I really hate the one piece top covers, even if they're better.

Honestly a sharp chain will out cut any high dollar options.

I do, I got 2 saws for work when Helene hit , a 500i and a 592xp. Both worked flawlessly and got a lifetime of hours on them in about 4 months.
I wanted to personally own the 500i again, come spring I'll probably be looking at scratching the 592xp itch!

I definitely stick too 30% on the face cut with the cottonwood species. I've found if I go too deep and then pound the snot out of the wedge it can break one side of the hinge, plus it's easier to tip over at 30.
