Old Homelite 300 muffler was busted up by the P.O. , so I modified a 288 muffler to fit. It sounds pretty good with that muffler.

Im not very tall so the Husqvarna fits me, but all the guys I cut with over 6' prefer the Friskars axe. I permanently bent a Husqvarna handle slightly, with a 40" water oak! Lol

Those Husqvarna axes are my favorite.

I know the early 044 had a steel insert in the pto side too.

This must be why the guys I cut with and myself don't have the bearing problems. We are chain sharpening fools!, but honestly once you get used to a sharp chain it ruins you. I've worked on square 066/064s with bad nylon cages.

I saw alot of lifting in the cut in the video, maybe that's my imagination?

I use a steering wheel puller from any auto parts store, and long screws.

I was drilling out a waterpump bolt on a Chevy in my 20s and had hair down to my belt , the drill grabbed my hair so quick I thought someone hit me from behind and turned around swinging! Then realized that the drill was hanging off my head!🤪

I'm gonna drop a hot one here! The MS441C or regular carburetor. I think a saw of that build complexity SHOULD have left the factory alot stronger and I've built 2 ( working on 3rd) that really responded to some simple port work. Others give in pretty quick because of the difficulty of assembly...
