How about welding/bolting a hitch ball to the top of a jackstand a putting it under the ball hitch. You won't have to screw with the splitter, but will have to carry the jackstand with the splitter.

Not sure how cold your nights are now? We were hit and miss frosts last week, maybe hard frost this Thursday? If the shot was in the chest most of meat should still be OK overnight.

Looked to be some 090s in that pile. I wonder how many ran?

We just missed first frost last wednesday/thurs 35o F, I covered stuff in garden. 70s oF upcoming week, possible frost next wed night.
