    Not So Pro 3

I like to go with graham cracker crumbs, who needs a crust? If you "go" well the next day. it's all good!

    The Official Farming Thread...

Good idea. It's Oct and everything seems always wet and muddy now. Gotta do it while you can, not much time left this year.

    Logs splitter fun.

I'd have taken it not working for $500, if that's what someone was asking. Paying double if its running, to me, is like paying for what something might be, not what it is. Pass. Anyway, these sell for $3-4k in my area so worth it. Nice find.

661cm low compression but still runs strong…

Whatever the compression tester tells you, the engine is telling you it's running strong. I'd be more concerned with letting it run lean for too long, if it is.

    Stihl prices

It's beyond that. The industry is gone. Look at anything that needs aluminum for example, the companies who make it are gone. The US doesn't even mine the magnesium to make aluminum anymore, so yes, any American small engine company has to buy it from other countries, at HUGE extra cost...

    Stihl prices

Don't be buying trucks for 100k, learn to fix things, like trucks you can buy for 5k.

    Best lawnmower blades sandy soil

For sandy soil, low lift or no lift blades are the way to go. There are a few good, but expensive, low lift blades on the market, but there is always another way. Flatten the blades you have on the mower now to get rid of the uplift and save? Sharpen them afterward since you'll already have...

Kohler vs Briggs & Stratton - opinions?

I have a 2001 mower with a B&S 20HP engine. It's problem free, for now. I don't love the price of the maintenance components, or the little plastic cap that is the oil drain plug.... problems in the making. I also have a 2019 with a Kohler engine, It's problem free as well but it has the...

    Saw build/Degreaser parts cleaner

Just don't go using Vaseline to shine up the plastics like some sites suggest. The plastics might look good but if you use worn gloves on a greased saw long enough you might not. I like rubbing in a 3-1 mix of olive oil and lemon juice, and then wipe it off completely. Doesn't cost much, It...

    Stihl FS80R any good?

For future reference to anyone looking this model up - If you get the chance to pick up a complete FS80R locally for under $100, don't hesitate. It's one of the models actually going UP in value over time according to recent sold auctions. If you part it out you can double that, it's a really...

    anyone have generator repair experiance

Normally when one outlet works and another doesn't you can work backwards, maybe swap the individual plug harnesses, to see if it's the plug/wiring. In your case you're getting enough to power one, not enough for another and none at the 230v. My hunch is that it's generating some power, but not...

    anyone have generator repair experiance

Since you use it sparingly, was it working the last time you fired it up? If so, before you get the stator rewound or replaced, check things over for signs of rodent damage as mentioned above, but also keep an eye out for corrosion at every connection. Given enough time the moisture in the air...
