Exactly what I'm saying. If it was as easy as clamping it in a fixture and letting your cnc machine port it, Stihl and Husqvarna and Farmertech would do it at the factory.
They designed it, cast it and machined it. If it was as simple as writing a program and having some flunky put it on a fixture and push the button, wouldn't they be doing it at the factory?

Sounds familiar. I replaced one last week on an E-450 bus and it was junk, out of the box, from Napa. They brought up another one, had to take a grinder to the mounting bracket to make it fit. It lasted 2 days before failing.
Didn't those have the fixed distributor with the cross-fire cap? I had a vortec 4.3 that vintage and it ate caps, rotors and fuel pumps. Intake gaskets on that one too!
