Maybe so. But the little Kohler on my splitter has never been touched after five seasons. The carb on my Intek Briggs on my rototiller has never been touched either after 25 seasons. The Yamaha engine on my generator had never been touched for the 20 years I owned it. I have removed and cleaned...
Interesting. Even though it cut a little faster, I'd swap the couple loops of RS pro I have even up for SP33 any day of the week, especially for picking through dirty hardwood tops.
Mine is an aftermarket Bercomac, built in Quebec. I have replaced the electric hoist, a bunch of shear pins and a couple belts over the years. Aside from that, it kicks ass.
I've had an X320 with that same 23hp Kawasaki since 2010. It has been rock solid year around mowing grass and blowing snow. The idle circuits have a tendency to get plugged up once or twice a season, but that's a non-issue for guys like us.
You sound like me. I'd take Sugar Maple over anything. I have more of it available than everything else combined, I know how long it takes to season and I know how much I need to put up every year.
I don't think either of my local businesses wants to do anything above and beyond selling you a new saw, a six pack of mix and a jug of bar oil. All at msrp, of course.
