If you want the best lathe out there it’s going to be an
Hardinge HLVH
I worked piece work on an Hardinge for the uk mod experimental we had Hardinge all over the factory, did work on Starstreak its a British short-range surface-to-air missile that can be used as a man-portable air-defence...
Seems a lot of work to the untrained eye, Have a 362 here done with the last available second hand oem 362 crankshaft imported from America “Chainsawr” £90 inc tax p&p that was a good buy,
repaired clutch end would be a bodge as for tolerances everything measures up good to 3 decimal places...
These pic are of separating the new 361, the 362 took 5 ton pressure to get it moving and 2 ton there after, the new 361 took 2 ton.. I’ve pressed other cranks at 10 ton these 2 where easy..
But it helps if you have the dogs bollock 5 our 30 ton press with tonnage gauges newly acquired £300...
Ok here we go
The new 361 crank (£25+£4p&p) turned up today but with the 10mm con rod
I’ve pressed apart both cranks a swapped the con rod
I’ll add a few pic here
The sprocket drum bearing surface on the crank on the 362 is pitted
So the replacement 362 crank is very expensive £256
So I’m going to buy a cheep 361 crankshaft & swap the 12mm con rod to the new 361
My question is has this been done before
I’ve got the 362 saw running with flywheel of my 261 c-m..
so the problem must be with the heated handle 362 flywheel only one set of magnets are magnetised on that flywheel
So now I need a 362 c-m heated handle flywheel
The part number on the 362 H/H flywheel is the same as a standard 362...
Hi and thanks I have it set up in the lathe & can go up to 200 - 2000 rpm's.. I’ve tested coils in this way can get a spark at low revs usually if coil is good
Thanks but the keyway isn’t the problem I can broach another keyway. I have a 362 mtronic with one set of flywheel magnets with no/little magnetism I can’t get a spark out of it.. it’s the generator type flywheel
I found the thread
stihl's mtronic...
