Firewood thread!!! Let's see what you got!!!!

I don't even offer to stack, but like I said if there was someone who really needed I would do it for free rather than charge to do it for someone who can do a little work themselves. Just last night a guy who I'm delivering $1,200 worth of wood to on Friday was hinting around about stacking; I...

Yes. We'd help stack if the person really needed but in general we just empty out the truck or trailer and go.

Not much for softwoods usually but a buddy runs a tree service company and gave me a couple cords of pine today. I'll split it fairly soon; it will dry quickly and I'll make a few bucks!

Woke up yesterday having done three deliveries the day before - told my wife "No deliveries scheduled; gonna get the rest of the birch we have here at the house split and stacked today; be a nice, easy Saturday!" Waited until a respectable hour (9am) so as not to rouse the neighbours & fired up...

Crazy busy weekend - reffed 10 hockey games and delivered (let's see): 1/4 cord of oak Friday night; 2 separate half-cords of birch plus 12 bags of mixed hardwoods plus 10 bags of oak Saturday; 10 bags of oak in one place and 5 in another on Sunday. Everyone woke up on good Friday & decided it...

What current 60cc class saw is best?

Have bucked through maybe 15 or 20 cords now with my MS400 (bought last summer) and like it better each time I use it.

    Used Saw Value?

Husky dealer call me to say they have a sale starting April 3rd. They have a brand new 372XP that is going to be $1,200 Canadian ($835 US). It's hard for me to justify it, already having an MS400 and a 392XP - but I really wanna add this saw to the collection either to use or re-sell later. I've...

Proud dad…14 year old & 12 year old went out last night and stacked for 2 hours while I reffed a couple of hockey games. Had split about 2 cords yesterday & they stacked it all - raising good little workers!

Had a great late-Feb to mid-March pulling ash out of the forest along the river. Still a bit to split; need a good long day or two. Then 30 cords of birch to get through; then 40 more of oak.

Here's a few pics of the oak I made a deal on. Guy bought some farmland with a few trees and is clearcutting the trees to maximize his acreage. His track-hoe literally uproots the trees and lays them down. Then he hand-trims branches & cuts the logs to 200 inches. Kinda sad to lose trees for...
