Terry, I'm building a Stihl 039 an it seems to me I read that you put in some main/crank bearings that had 8 balls in them. I've been searching for the post and cant find it. I believe it was on the Stihl 290 sleeper you had built yourself.. I just got a pair of SKF bearings that were wrong size...

That should be the one. I even called up my Tech support guy at Midwest Stihl to confirm it. I think they sent me 3 of the 6Pt ones last summer, but I haven't double checked my tool box yet. I had not seen the Stihl 8pt diagram yet, just knew it was same size as the 6pt. the rep was going though...

Ray, I would love to have a copy of those manuals too! I think I have 4 or 5 of those saws. Thanks in advance.

New member, 1st post. Just did Stihl online Tech update class last Mon. Only new tool on it was a (imagine this) yet another 8 sided hex carb adjusting screwdriver in addition to their 6 sided hex one. (TSB 037.2018) 2018 release was a 4 stroke compression tester #5910 850 2000 with 10mm...
