There's a cheapo used OEM coil avail for about 20. I'll bite the bullet and put it in. I was outside in the dark watching the spark at low idle. It does drop off briefly for a fraction of a second every now and then.

I do not know how old it is, I trash picked it and put in one of those cheap crappy Chinese carbs. Ran great until the old lady effed it up.

Put a bit of Star Tron Fuel Stabilizer in the tank, and see if it clears up. That stuff is really good.

SRM 225. Replaced carb, plug. Checked insulator, no cracks. The little woman dropped it off its perch and it fell 5 and hit the concrete hard, thus the reason for the new carb and that little metal plate that holds the air filter in. Have tweaked it a bunch, runs rough at idle, pretty smooth...

Good reply, thanks. Took out that gasket and starts easier. When I looked at the hole in the gasket, and the size of the hole in the carb, it's easy to see the gasket was restricting air flow. Still take too many pulls (8-10) to start, but it's better than it was.
