Got ugly for a thread on OPE, sounds more like AS... I too use Red Kote and my last can did at least 10 fuel tanks (mostly 10 Series)...

I would favor JB Weld, grind or sand (coarse grit) around the hole, JB all around, press in a piece of screen wire and finish with JB...

I think you will find that the silicone tape is not very durable. You need something on top of it to provide some physical toughness. Mark
