We’ve had lots of lightning here too. Not a lot of rain though. Plenty of new starts. Just wrapped up our second fire and on our way to a 3rd down in the southern part of the state. Day 9.
I’m on a handcrew. I missed the last roll due to a commitment. They spent 2 weeks fighting desert fires in 90-114° weather. We’re going available again Sunday. Should be a busy couple weeks again.

It sure is. The thing I like most is that it’s not bulky to pack around, so I tend to actually have it with me when I need it unlike a lot of other gadgets.
If you guys haven’t seen these, they are pretty handy. Spanner wrench, scrench, seatbelt cutter, raker gauge, amongst other things. Ranch west Co sells these too. Really good guy and great company.
This was the first one I’ve responded to down here. Meth isn’t as big of a problem as opiates, though that is starting to change. I’m sure it won’t be the last. One of the guys on a neighboring department was with Bozeman and Helena Depts. sounds like it’s a common occurrence in those parts.

Had a meth lab fire this morning at 0200. Third time this year that we’ve gone to the same property. First time was a brushfire second a shed burnt down, this time it was a garage and camper, as well as a shed on the neighboring property.
Avenza maps is the standard for Forest Service. It works fair. I prefer OnX for features but Avenza is hard to beat for fire when you need to coordinate.
