I am in the position to buy a new MS 462 with a regular carb. It will have to come from South America.
The price compared to the Mtronic versions is quite a bit lower. But compared to a new Husqvarna 327 XP OE it is more expensive.
I already have too many saws. Would it be a smart move to buy one?
If the 346NE (44,3mm) isn't available from OEM, would it be wise to get an OEM 353 cylinder kit? Or would you rather go for an aftermarket 44,3 mm version?
No surprise really. I guess it was the same in other countries that changed over.
Although the price of the 592XP on your picture seems a little cheaper than in for example Austria.
I made one myself as well, but the clutch was so tight I couldn't get it to work.
Ended up losing patience and hitting it with a punch and a hammer. Damaged more than I should have.
Then I ordered the official clutch tool and it really works the best for me.
Bought this 266 XPG a few months ago. It needed a carb kit and a little cleaning.
It looks all original to me, except the black sticker on the clutch cover. I have never seen one like that on a 266.
Cleaned up a scored cylinder by hand. There are some vertical lines visible above the exhaust port. Is this a big concern? I can feel them with my finger nail.
It looked like this before:
Bought a 346XP NE. Just got deliverd to me. The ad said it had been sitting for a few years. On the pictures I could see that the throttle lever was missing.
The saw looks clean on the outside, but it must have been used with a super dull chain. It looks like sand but I guess it's just wood...
Not sure how the oiler on that saw looks like. But I had a Jonsered 2171 that was used with some real sticky kind of bar oil. The gear inside the oiler was very hard to move and it I had the same happening as you.
Otherwise I am not sure what can be the cause.
