Looks like my 500i I got at a pawn shop really cheap! It had low compression , no pull start handle and made a hell of a noise in the clutch. Plugged decomp , new clutch and new elasto start . I thought it was gonna be a real fix it upper but It has monster Compression and is my most reliable...

Love this site, post a picture and people know exactly what has happened and why . The owner of the saw will probably tell u he hasn't done as people have stated in the posts above , but the evidence is clear

It's still going good! Done about 10 tanks so far !

Out of curiosity what causes a solenoid to fail ?

There's a post on here somewhere that says the models after 2020 ? Are design slightly different to counter this .

Yup very dark . I suspect lack of maintenance . piston was probably worn , abit of abuse and poor oil at a guess

It's ashame , there so good! I've put my 25inch bar on it , been buried in pine all day . It's keeping up with my 661 . Wonder how it would go in hardwood?

Saw is back up and running ! New piston , rings and gasket . Warmed it up , idled for about 5 mins then straight blasting wood lol .done about 2 tanks ,so far , so good .

I put a carb kit in same time as the module. I did notice the spark plug boot wasn't fully seated , slightly out from vibration I guess. I'll have a look at the wiring when I get some more time. Thanks for the tips tho!

The module and solenoid have Maybe 15 hours on them ? The rest of the saw prob 500

Hey I know this is a really old thread but mine does this .. it runs good , idles good just a lean bog after a big cut , a couple of wee blips and it's back to normal. This is a v3 mtronic , havnt done a recalibration yet as it still seams to runs really good Is it anything to worry about ?

I had a chinesse 660 i built with a max flo , duel port muffler , and the baffle gutted . It was a beast . Would demolish bluegum with a 25" bar . It smashs the stock 661 I have but once I put the max flo and bark box on its slightly better .

Think u just need the ignition module and solenoid to match

When I took the exhaust off and saw that mess I instantly thought it'd of smashed the flange and killed the cylinder . I've done one before that needed a new case half because of that stupid flange ... Does anybody know why they don't make them like the 461s and 661s ? Those ones u can replace...

Once I took the cylinder off i had to laugh. Couldn't believe the cylinder survived after a big hit like that . Have uploaded a photo of the cylinder cleaned up too
