Time for maintenance, I agree. But it doesn’t make a difference, new and the most advanced technology, or the old and beastly. If the fuel filter was letting that much dirt past, any saw, new tech or old school would have caught it a fuel inlet screen. Provided some smarty didn’t remove it...

Can’t say I’ve had a problem with that. But I’m mostly cutting firewood, so ain’t spending long in a cut either. Not long enough I’d see smoke for sure! My biggest thing is a bark tube like that makes hearing protection absolutely necessary… 🙉 But it does seem to breathe well!

Surely there’d be an adapter at a local still dealer to fit on an MS170…?? I don’t frequent the stihl departments much so I don’t know. Can you verify with a tachometer that your ‘misfire’ is ignition related? Or do you have an inline spark tester? That would give you a visual on your coil output. I’d echo check the coil to flywheel gap. Is your flywheel compromised in any way- lost a magnet? shorn key? etc… I don’t know...

Just buy that 562 before you get a 365. Nicer ergonomics better power to weight ratio, etc. etc. etc. Just do it. It’ll only bite once. After you put your new 562 into wood, you will be so busy enjoying it, you won’t have time to come back here and tell us how much you like it! Nor will you...
