    Dealing with insects

In the evening when ground hornets are on best poor some gasoline in. Vapors go down killing them. Light it if you want to (I have[emoji2]). The big paper hornet nests my friend would wait til evening and close them up in an old suitcase leaving it on sidewalk in a bad part of town.[emoji38]...

I thought Stihl was a good saw!

I replaced with original bolts, but by retapping probably made that hole larger (bolt snapped off is/was harder than block material I bet). So I used a size larger self tapping screws and lockwashers...tight but didn't try lock tight. I'll make a bracket to hold it on, run it until it quits...

I thought Stihl was a good saw!

I did take it back to the dealer, but my experience is sure they can fix it, but most likely $300+, to me not worth it. I'll just fabricate a bracket holding muffler in place, use it until it quits. At that point if I can fix it myself $150 or less I'll do that, otherwise buy a different brand...

I thought Stihl was a good saw!

Just got off phone with Stihl after 28 minute wait. I haven't used it that much but they said DOP was 2/2015. I had to fix chain brake bar couple years ago, top housing screws fell out. They said vibration caused issue, usually bent bar or chain missing teeth(?). I have replaced bar once and...

I thought Stihl was a good saw!

I'll check. Thanks. Meanwhile I drilled the bolt broken side. New screws, tight...tight-tight! Muffler fell off AGAIN! After 5 minutes use. I finished cutting with no muffler, my hearing is shot anyway [emoji2955]. What's causing the blankety-blank muffler to fall off?!?!? Sent from my...

I thought Stihl was a good saw!

I just cut a fairly good sized dying white pine down, was limbing it when the muffler fell off my MS291. Can't figure out why. Soon as I got it in garage it's raining like crazy, so had to quit anyway. Getting the one bolt recessed will be fun. Any ideas...thanks in advance. Sent from my...

    SELLING Free Sthil(?) Guard

I ordered a kickback guard for a Sthil MS291 and got this. It's a little too tight, 4.5" from hole center to center. About 6" wide. No part numbers anywhere. Free if anyone can use it. Shipping shouldn't be much. Just send me a private message. Sent from my SM-S205DL using Tapatalk

    Relationship woes

Early on in post I was thinking she found someone else, but you're better than that. You'll find a nice lady. And what did Chris get?...a woman who runs around on her husband. Sent from my SM-S205DL using Tapatalk

    Best Sthil bar & chain

Some fairly large ones sometimes, oak usually or locust. I heard carbide is the best, lasts longer, not that much more expensive. Sent from my SM-S205DL using Tapatalk

    Best Sthil bar & chain

I have a Sthil MS291 and was thinking about putting a 24" bar & chain on it. Pros-cons? I've heard it will run slower? If so, I need to know gauge, pitch, # links? Otherwise I'll stay with 20", either way a carbide tip chain. Best one to get? Thanks. Sent from my SM-S205DL using Tapatalk
