Afternoon folks, hope you all are enjoying the weekend, stopped at my buddy's meat market today to get some tri tips, walked out and saw this.

Finally got the day off today to work on the saw, installed a new oem ring & couldn't get the saw to run or idle, it was acting like it wasn't getting enough fuel, i double checked everything & installing a fresh plug, no go, i went on a search for the carb settings and found an old post fom...

Trying to find piston rings for the 435 iam working on, i can't find any oem ones, searching ebay I found some aftermarket rings with hy on them are these hyway?

Heard all the b.s from kids saftey & it benefits the farmers, years ago oregon voted to get rid of it along with Washington, but being on the west coast we play follow the biggest looser, so they won't get rid of it till California does it so they could be the same. Bunch of diks

Morning Sunday slackers, been up since 4, made the kids waffles for breakfast, they were kind enough to eat them all, looks like I'll just sit and drink my coffee.

A little cleanup on a browning bda, took lots of hand polishing but look pretty good, the grip panel finish was peeling, so I poped the medallions off & stripped em down and gave them a fresh coat of oil.

Gonna need a new ring for sure, it had a slight score mark inline with the piston, when i went to clean up the piston, i grabbed the ring with my fingernail and just barely pulled it & it shaped in half, must have got brittle from the heat i assume, so new piston ring on the way.

The black is fine grit, i use it on gunparts that need polishing, I'll check & see if the wife has some green, if not i gotta go get the kids from school shortly, I'll stop and grab some. Thanks again @hacskaroly really appreciate the help. Here's a few pics of the saw before teardown. The fuel...

Looks like it's only have black scotchbrite, what do you guys recommend?

Yup ring moves freely, no marks on it, i can feel a little edge on the piston with my finger nail, nothing catching on the cylinder, I'll give the scotchbrite a shot, guess worst case scenario I get a full kit or partial from duke's. Thanks for the help @hacskaroly

Got the cylinder off, you guys think it's still ok to use? Hoping i can get away with just a piston.
