Even though they were forced to lower ZDDP from spark ignition oils, they still have to formulate more expensive additives to take it‘s place. From what I understand ZDDP is/was a good and cheap additive but not friendly to catalytic converters on engines with 150,000+ miles.

As of last year the full, 3/4 wrap heated handle was still available from Stihl. 1128 790 3619 and close to $300 USD, may be more now.

You can test to make sure the tank vent is operating with the pressure tester. The vent is located under a small panel on the clutch side near where there would be an arctic switch by the handle mount. Fine debris can accumulate there.

That‘s the impulse circuit. Did you change out the pump diaphragm?

That’s where the high cost can be of benefit by safely extending the drain service intervals because internal combustion does not take place there.

What octane value gasoline are you using? I know that can be different numbers in some countries but a higher octane would be more resistant to pre ignition. It seems the smaller cc engines have issue and not the larger in your situation.

Does MolaKule offer his custom made lube products yet? He had a transfer case fluid and even a gun oil at one time.

Depends where in Wisconsin. The state tax is 5%(started at 2%) and then counties can add an additional 0.5% and local municipalities can add even more. Milwaukee is at 7.9% now. The county around Okhkosh I believe is the only one right at 5%. At least you don‘t pay tax on shoes and clothing in MN!

I would not believe the heat switch would make a difference to the spark plug, it’s a separate system. I have the same issues with a 550xp, Ms460 arctic, and now Dolmar 7900H when it‘s cold.
