Newest version 562xp good to go now?

That’s great. 32” bars no less?

What is the strongest 70-80cc saw currently stock or ported

The factory muffler for a 500i is noticeably louder around the jobsite… Always made me curious how much Stihl was concerned with it being a competitive saw, as we talk about the 572xp and 7900 benefiting from MM? I enjoy ms462c (with a $tihl light bar) for limbing and aloft—the others wear the...

Are the bolts on the handle from a climber’s lanyard hook?

50cc or Smaller Saw for Homeowner

I wouldn’t steer you away from my trusty Makita platform since their carpentry tools are so good. But the torque threshold of the new ones is criminally low compared to the pro battery saws I use AND my old-as-heck Makita XCU02Z, so I’d just want to incorporate that knowledge into my saw plan

    Project Farm electric saw shoot-out

Stihl was happy to have half the electric chainspeed of Husky for about five years until recently, so I always figured they were trying to position electric as a non-threat to their gas saws? I have a ten+ year old Makita in the trunk that runs better than the modern ones. The form factor is...

New chainsaw to replace Stihl 08s (MS362/400/462)

I used to use an MS362 as a bucket truck saw due to the easier pull starts, if that’s a factor for your family. But the power-to-weight balance on a new MS462 is very good.

Full house 3/8lp for pole saw?

I’ve been running the 16” bar/chain off of a 201t on both Stihl and Husqvarna electric pole saws with great success for storm work. I assume you want full comp for the chatter…I agree that back when we had the lighter 1/4” Stihl pole saws we could make great fine pruning cuts. But anyway...

    Stihl ElastoStart

I run a repurposed elastostart handle on my Husky 562, using a big stopper knot. It’s gone though a couple big jobs so far and hasn’t torn through the flexible rubber. But given the choice, I would have done it your way.

    Dyed Fleet Saws

Here are a few of the latest fleet saws I’ve been dyeing. We use them for felling, bucking, and aloft…always hawk-eyed to which saw is cutting well in the moment, and which need particular attention before getting put away at night. Any more clean techniques I should be aware of? I’d like to...

Tree Scouts Tree Service | Austin, TX

Hi, you seem like you have a very professional office team. As a climber I wonder if you’d be open to talking about a few boxes you want to check on pictures of your tree climber prior to them representing your company.

Echo chainsaws-How are the different grades identified?

I’ll have to keep an eye out for 620s and 6700s in the future. When my tree climbing saw Stihl MS362 20” bar went to the shop I was lucky by to be able to be granted a loaner Echo CS510 20” bar that was barely used sitting in the “saved from surplus” pile. Neither of them will chase down...

    SOLD 390XP for sale

Hi, nice saw! I’d do $800 if you could include shipping to Washington State. We had a wind come out of the East and tip over more trees than usual while my personal 372xp is off getting some love, so I’m interested in something that can pull its long bars.
