If it wouldn't be for GTG's and face to face meetings I have had, I would have been so fukcing done with this place ages ago. There are about a dozen or so imbeciles in here that think their snarky, sarcastic posts are somehow cute or witty. It's all just noise and only people obsessed with saws...
I have some of that. I have been running County Line from Tractor Supply for ages without any issues. 400 is the only saw I have that won't give 1/1.
In fact, it's more like 1/.5 or even 1/.3
Not enough in my book...
I wouldn't try to "repair" the tooth shown in first post. When it dulls and needs attention (sharpened) again, do as Kevin suggests and file slightly higher. Depending on where your depth gages are set, chains with too much hook can be grabby. The top plate will either slice or carve the wood...
Paraffin based vs. asphalt based. Extremely low wear. Unfortunately it sludges and the masses find that offensive. I’m talking car/truck crankcase not 2 stroke or bar n chain.
Same here. This (chainsaws) is about all I do. (need to flush this damn phone down the toilet). The amount of standing dead oak I have to cut is staggering for an old geezer like me.
I’ve got nothing in this whatsoever other than considering Dan as my good friend. He bent over backwards to help me with my GTG’s.
So, @jackjr where does this stand?
Hard to believe it has been damned near 10 years…
I know of a guy that read Every. Single. Post. Before joining. The point being not all newbs are uninitiated.
