I'll have to disagree & say that the dry heat is easier to deal with. Until the chapped lips become an issue... Either way I'll be soaked in sweat.

The forestry and logging pictures thread

Been doing some micro logging. The privacy trees are/were anything but at this point. They drop their bows at such a rate now that anything under them is doomed. I'm probably throughly terrifying the neighbors adjacent to me. I dug out a few blocks to string up some haywire for yarding the logs...

Bunch of random pics of cutters

What should move chips better? A sharp edge, or a blunt edge? I believe the latter on account of less cutting & more pushing. "If your chain can still open up a missed face cut, your gullets are fine."

Porting, You get what you pay for

Lol, my primo 084 lasted 2 tanks after ole Terry got a hold of it. Come to find out it had already blown once before that when he first fired it up after reassembly. The intake port has a "tonsil" for piston stability, that he seemed to think getting rid of entirely, was the right decision.

What to expect from a ported saw?

Appearance wise, it was well worn.

What to expect from a ported saw?

Like I said, what a touchy bunch. You aught to know that what I said here is about as mild as I come. Yeah it really would be a genius move if you were trying to make a saw look fast, with the hollow butt of the log in plain view. I know sarcasm doesn't translate well on paper, but *s-word, I...

What to expect from a ported saw?

There's no point, because I've got stuff to do! French drain stuff. Bye, ladies..
